An exciting opportunity has arisen for a remotely based interim Field Monitoring Officer (Retainer), based in Oban. The successful candidate will be expected to attend any training courses provided by the company.

Shift requirements: Evening and weekend work as and when required. Any additional hours over the contractual 20 hours per month will be paid as a separate overtime rate.

Annual Salary: £ Hourly Rate: £16.02

What is “Electronic Monitoring”?

  • Electronic Monitoring is the use of Radio Frequency technology to monitor an individual's compliance with an order imposed upon them by an issuing authority such as a Sheriff Court.
  • Individuals who are subject to Electronic Monitoring will wear a monitoring device commonly referred to as a “Tag” and have a further monitoring device installed within their premises.
  • G4S, an allied universal company, is the Electronic Monitoring Service Provider for Scotland.
  • G4S installs the equipment, monitors individuals’ compliance and reports any non-compliance to the relevant authority.

As a remotely based Interim Field Monitoring Officer (Retainer) your duties will include:

  • Responsible for the installation, investigation of alerts and decommissioning of curfew orders within your designated area and in accordance with Company Procedures and terms of the contract.
  • Support and advise persons during their period of curfew.
  • Process incidents / violations within agreed timescales to meet SLAs.
  • Escalate reportable incidents to the Monitoring Centre and as per agreed procedures.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers through the application of the principles of pro-social modelling.
  • Maintain, uphold and demonstrate values and protect the company brand. Document all contact with our customers both internal and external.

To be a successful Field Monitoring Officer you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, positive and confident in a pressurised environment.
  • Ability to make decisions based on facts and information available.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload. Flexible working style.
  • Full UK driving licence.

The Field Monitoring Officer will be required to work a shift roster based on 20 hours per month as and when required, although you may be asked to work additional hours when necessary. The work will be mostly evening shifts. Fuel expenses will be paid covering business requirements. You will require your own vehicle.

Please note, this role does not qualify for a visa under the current Government guidelines therefore to be considered for this role you must already have the right to work in the UK. Re-location costs will not be granted. You must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the required zone of operation (Oban).
