Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Permanent. Monday to Friday, 8:00-14:30 (30 min unpaid break) Term Time Only

About the Role

G4S Facilities Management is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team supporting Malmesbury School (Multi Academy) (North Wiltshire Schools). Working collaboratively within a dynamic environment, you will follow standard operating procedures and maintain excellent hygiene standards to consistently deliver exceptional service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Cash Handling: Provide excellent customer service, operate coffee machines, and handle cash transactions.

• Food Preparation: Assist with preparing basic food items.
• Stock Management: Rotate catering stock and assist with stocktaking to minimise waste.
• Hospitality Services: Prepare and deliver hospitality arrangements throughout the building as required.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Maintain food safety and health and safety records, including temperature checks.
• Cleaning & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain clean work areas, ensure equipment is safe to use, and report faults promptly.
• Teamwork & Flexibility: Support team members, adapt to business needs, and work in other nearby units when required.
• Professional Standards & Training: Maintain a professional appearance, wear the required G4S uniform and safety footwear, and complete mandatory training.
• Security Clearance: Be willing to obtain the required extended security clearance before starting employment.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

• Relevant catering experience.

• Basic knowledge of food safety and health and safety.

• Basic understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).

• Basic knowledge of due diligence requirements and allergens.

• Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene qualification

Desirable:

• Food Safety Certification

• Previous experience in a quality catering operation

• Basic IT competence
