Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering you will be working closely with the Operations, Quality and Supply Chain teams. You will be a proactive Mechanical Engineer who takes ownership of problems, drives solutions, and follows through to implementation. Success in this role comes from action, accountability, and delivery.What You’ll Be Doing:Take ownership of engineering issues from identification through resolutionInvestigate problems on the shop floor and in the field using structured approaches (RCA, 5Wys, etc.)Develop clear, practical solutions into actionable work plans and deliver themSupport production by resolving mechanical and electro-mechanical issues quickly and effectivelyProduce and improve designs for manufacturability, reliability, and costMaintain accurate engineering documentation (BoM, drawings, change records)Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality and Supply ChainWhat we are looking for:Ownership mindset - takes responsibility for problems and drives them to closureProactive approach - does not wait for direction, investigates and proposes solutionsStructured thinking - able to break down complex problems and communicate clearlyDelivery focus - follow through on commitments agreed with HoE, and meets deadlinesResilience and composure - operates effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environmentTechnical Skills and Experience:Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), preferably with chartership status (but not necessarily)Experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environmentStrong problem-solving skills with practical applicationExperienced with CAD (Solid Works or similar)Understanding of BoMs, engineering drawings gates system, and change controlFamiliar with DfMA principleWhat Will Make You Stand-Out:Proven examples of solving real product or production issues (end-to-end)Experience implementing improvements (not just recommending them)Exposure to electro-mechanical and electronic productsLean / Continuous Improvement experience.What we offerSalary: CompetitiveWorking Model: Whilst the role is considered site based we do enjoy some hybrid working around business needs.
