What is “Electronic Monitoring”? Electronic Monitoring is the use of Radio Frequency technology to monitor an individual's compliance with an order imposed upon them by an issuing authority such as a Sheriff Court. Individuals who are subject to Electronic Monitoring will wear a monitoring device commonly referred to as a “Tag” and have a further monitoring device installed within their premises. G4S, an allied universal company, is the Electronic Monitoring Service Provider for Scotland. G4S installs the equipment, monitors individual’s compliance and reports any non-compliance to the relevant authority.
What does the role entail? We have an exciting opportunity for a Control Room Operator to join our team. Full time and part time hours available, shift working, based at Glasgow Business Park, Building 4, Parkway Court, Springhill Parkway, Baillieston, Glasgow, G69 6GA. The role is to deliver high quality, professional monitoring in accordance with the policies and procedures as agreed with the Scottish Government. In return, you will receive a salary of £25,917.81 per annum based on full time 38 hrs (£13.08 per hr), part time positions are paid pro rata. 28 days holiday, entry into a contributory pension scheme and free parking. For hours worked past 00.00 until 06.00 an additional £1 per hour will be paid as a shift allowance. Shift Pattern Saturday and Sunday 18:00 - 06:30.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age and able to obtain Disclosure Scotland vetting prior to taking up employment. This vetting will be at G4S expense.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities for the Control Room Operator are:
- Point of contact for Monitored Persons who are subject to Electronic Monitoring.
- Monitoring Compliance of Monitored Persons and reporting any incidents of non-compliance to the appropriate agency.
- Liaising with various partner agencies such as Justice Social Work, Police Scotland, Hospitals and the Scottish Prison Service.
- Use of Google Drive, Google Sheets and information management software to document actions and produce reports.
- Making outbound calls to Monitored Persons and Partner Agencies as well as receiving incoming calls.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Essential: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to remain calm, positive and confident in a pressurised environment, ability to make decisions based on facts and information available, excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload, flexible working style.
- Desirable: Ability to use Google Drive systems such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. Full UK driving licence. Experience in a similar role.
