Join G4S at Heysham Port for the busy summer season! We are looking for approachable and efficient individuals to support our port operations team. As a Steward, you will be the helpful and friendly face of the port, ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all passengers and clients. This is an ideal opportunity for students (over 18) looking to gain valuable experience and gain an insight into the world of port security and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Car Park Management: Supporting the team with car park duties, directing traffic flow, and managing parking facilities.
  • Security Checks: Carrying out essential security checks to ensure compliance and safety within the port.
  • Customer Service: Providing excellent "service with a smile," being a primary point of contact for passenger queries, and offering assistance where needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all visitors and passengers remain safe within secured zones and following all safe working procedures.
  • Approachability: Maintaining a visible and professional presence to reassure passengers and staff.

About You

  • Communication: You are a great communicator who enjoys meeting and working with people.
  • Mindset: You have a positive, proactive manner and a "common sense" approach to problem-solving.
  • Eligibility: Due to the nature of the site, candidates must be over 18 years of age.
  • Availability: Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet, especially during the peak summer months.
