Work in a tight-knit, lean and efficient production team producing amazing results day in day out. We pride ourselves on a great working atmosphere where every team member’s contribution matters. We require a Large Format Print Operative / Finisher who can run our flat bed printer and cutters.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an established print production professional to develop their skills further within a well established, innovative company. You will have been working in the industry performing a similar role for a while and be familiar with the day-to-day running of a busy print room. Possessing a can do, problem solving attitude with the ability to think outside the box. You have experience running the below machines or similar and are ready to hit the ground running from day one. If you have most but not all of the below covered then partial training can be provided.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Operating and maintaining large format printers (HP R1000, Canon Colorado 1650)
- Operating and maintaining cutting machines (Summa S2, DYSS X5)
- Using print production & finishing software (ONYX RIP, Kasemake & Adobe Creative Suite)
- Preparing pre-press artwork for print using Adobe Illustrator
- Vinyl fitting, including vehicle graphics
- Mounting self adhesive vinyl graphics to rigid media using roller mounting table
- Reporting to Production Manager and helping make sure all jobs go out on time
- Quality control and stock management
- Packing and dispatch of finished products
Skills, Attributes Required
- At least 3 years experience runner large format print & finishing equipment
- Proficiency with ONYX RIP, Kasemake, and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator)
- Experience with vinyl fitting (preferably including vehicles) and mounting on to rigid media
- Strong attention to detail for quality control
- Effective communication skills with both colleagues and Managers
- Be flexible with working hours – Overtime will be required when necessary
- Ability to manage stock and communicate when replenishment is required
- Ideally hold a full, clean UK drivers licence
