G3 continues to grow, and we are seeking highly capable people to join us as Associate Directors in our Strategic Intelligence practice in London. We are looking for candidates with at least seven years' experience in law, finance, consulting, corporate strategy, strategic intelligence, government, or comparable environments.

G3’s Strategic Intelligence practice advises business leaders and investors on the decisions that matter most to their organisations. We work on many of the world’s most significant transactions and corporate movements, advising on M&A, regulatory and policy matters, and senior appointments. Clients turn to G3 because they need a clearer view of a commercial risk, a regulatory environment, or a senior individual, and because they value the independence and discretion of our work. Our clients include many of the world’s largest corporations, leading private equity funds, and major institutional investors. Many of them have worked with us for years.

An Associate Director runs G3’s most demanding engagements. In any given month, they might be assessing the commercial risks attached to a target in a multi-billion-pound transaction, mapping the political dynamics that will determine whether a piece of legislation passes, or building a considered view of a senior executive through the people who have worked with them. Much of this work is done through G3’s network – a global community of contacts cultivated over many years, whose perspective and access make our advice possible. Associate Directors learn to draw on the network and, over time, contribute to it. The subject matter varies widely, and Associate Directors are expected to move between sectors, jurisdictions, and subject areas they may have had no prior exposure to. What matters is not what they already know, but the speed at which they can learn and the judgment they bring to bear once they do.

How we present our findings is central to what we do, and much of our advice is delivered in writing and on calls with senior clients. We hold ourselves to a high standard, and we expect Associate Directors to be articulate, precise, and confident communicators.

We are looking for candidates with at least seven years’ experience in law, finance, consulting, corporate strategy, strategic intelligence, government, or comparable environments. We do not hire for a single profile, and our work benefits from a range of perspectives. Typically, strong candidates:

  • Are investigative by instinct: curious, persistent, and entrepreneurial in finding what they need.
  • Have high emotional intelligence and sound commercial judgement, quick to grasp what a client is really worried about and confident in advising them on it.
  • Have a strong academic background and demonstrable interest in writing and learning.

We also look for people who want to be part of building something. G3 is a growing firm, and the people who thrive here not only deliver excellent client work but also help shape the firm itself.

Associate Directors are central to G3. They lead client projects, develop their advisory and client management skills, and, over time, take on responsibility for small teams of their own, with accountability for the quality of execution on client engagements and for the development of junior colleagues. The people who progress furthest are those who set the standard for those around them, are committed to bringing colleagues along, and care about the firm’s growth as much as their own success. The route from there is to Director, where the role broadens to carry greater strategic responsibility and the long-term stewardship of G3’s practices and client relationships. Some have moved into senior operational and business development roles at the firm.

What we offer:

  • Salary: competitive, based on experience
  • Bonus and equity: competitive
  • Flexible working balance of home and office
  • Stakeholder pension contribution of 5%
  • Private medical insurance including generous terms of cover for both medical hospital, dental and mental health support for you, your partner and children (subject to T&Cs of the policy).
  • Life insurance – 4 x annual salary
  • 25 days holiday per year in addition to bank holidays
  • Cycle to work scheme

If you believe you have the relevant experience, character, and qualifications to be part of the G3 team, please send your CV and a covering letter to hr@g3.co.
