Duties: Responsible for electrical design engineering tasks including:

  • Produce conceptual designs, detail designs, integration/installation drawings, design specifications, operational documentation and validation evidence for electrical engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with other design engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall design.
  • Ensure all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met.
  • Manage third party designers and provide design assistance to installation and commissioning teams.
  • Leading and participating in internal and external design review meetings.
  • Identify and support opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and business improvement.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical tenders and budgets.
  • Requests for quotations for specialist equipment.

Start: January 2024

Qualifications Required: Degree or higher education qualification (HNC/HND) in electrical engineering with at least 3 year’s post qualification experience in a design environment.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience of integration of multiple services within containerised or modular builds advantageous.
  • Proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD (experience working with 3D CAD systems is advantageous but not critical).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis tools for electrical systems (such as ‘Trimble MEP’ / DIALux / Relux).
  • The identification and rectification of defects encountered during operational service.
  • Working knowledge of 18th Edition (amendment 2) wiring regulations.
  • Experience in LPS and earthing systems.
  • Experience in EMC and Tempest installations.
  • Working knowledge of relevant BS / ISO standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
