Essential Job Functions:

  • Goods receiving/checking and processing on IT systems
  • Identification of defects in line with the Goods Receiving process and associated action to ensure return/replacement of defect goods
  • Movement of goods by hand, palletiser or a forklift truck
  • Coordination of picklist per project, ensuring that materials are identified and made available to the required internal customers in line with the required timescales
  • Weighing, counting & packing of materials
  • Loading of ISO shipping containers
  • Loading materials onto and off racking
  • Oversight and responsibility for the effective and compliant storage of all material assigned to the Warehouse
  • Processing of military spares
  • Daily housekeeping duties
  • Safe loading/unloading of vehicles
  • To perform periodic warehouse checks as required (fire alarms, racking, FLT)
  • Perform warehouse inventory controls, stock counting & location checks
  • Performing within warehouse health & safety rules is essential

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE English and Maths minimum grade C (level 6)
  • Forklift License essential (or ability/willingness to be trained to operate one)
  • Competent with Microsoft Office standard packages
  • Familiarity with principles of stock control systems

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Experience of UK export control principle including licence management (desirable)
  • Strong work & standards/ethics and calm manner in a fast paced, demanding business environment
  • Flexibility to meeting day to day business demands (including working hours) is essential
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent organisational and record keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of goods
  • Good attention to detail
  • Honest & trustworthiness
  • Ability to work effectively under limited supervision
  • Experience of loading of ISO shipping containers
  • Full assessment of tasks in line with Health & Safety requirements
