Design systems that are built, tested, and deployed in some of the world's most demanding environments. At G3 Systems, we deliver modular and containerised deployable infrastructure used in defence and government operations to complex remote deployments.
We're looking for a Project Accountant to join our Finance Team, helping turn concepts into real-world systems that are manufactured, deployed, and used in the field. With our integration facility located on-site, you'll have the unique opportunity to see your contribution come to life.
What you'll be doing:
- Own project financials: budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
- Track project performance and flag risks or opportunities
- Support project managers with commercial and financial decisions
- Manage contract variations, invoices, and cost allocations
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams
- Produce clear management reports for stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Drive process improvements and best practice in project finance
Why this role is different:
- Not your typical desk-based finance role - you'll be embedded within live projects, working alongside operational and programme teams
- You’ll influence decisions in real time, not just report the numbers
- Direct exposure to high-value, complex projects with real commercial impact
- Opportunity to move beyond traditional accounting into true business partnering
- Be part of a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment where your insight drives project success
What we're looking for:
- Essential CIMA/ACCA/ACA
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. May consider a QBE accountant
Who you are:
- Brings a positive, adaptable mindset and thrives on supporting project delivery
- Has strong attention to detail and communicates confidently with project teams and stakeholders
- Enjoys collaborating across functions, building relationships with operational, commercial, and finance colleagues
- Has experience in project accounting, ideally within long-term, high-value programmes
- Comes from engineering, manufacturing, construction, or similar project-focused environments
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment where priorities evolve quickly
- Has a proactive approach, spotting risks and opportunities to support project success
Not sure if you meet every requirement? We know great candidates don't always meet every requirement. If you're interested in the role and feel it could be a good fit, we'd encourage you to apply. We value different perspectives and are committed to building an inclusive team.
What you'll get in return:
- A key role within a growing, project-driven organisation where finance is embedded in operations
- Direct involvement in complex, high-value projects with real commercial impact
- The opportunity to work closely with operational and programme teams, influencing decision making
- A fast-paced, delivery-focused environment offering variety, ownership, and responsibility
- The chance to move beyond reporting into true business partnering and add measurable value
- Ongoing development and the opportunity to shape and improve finance processes
- A collaborative and supportive team culture
Benefits include:
- Competitive salary of £45,000 per annum
- 25 days annual leave
- Flexible 37.5-hour working week
- Private Medical Insurance (BUPA)
- Life cover (3.5x salary)
- Pension scheme
- Salary sacrifice schemes (including eBike and electric vehicles)
- Access to wellbeing platforms
