Summary
Under general supervision, performs coordination and communication duties associated with the timely
and accurate scheduling and dispatching of bulk Ag commodities, pomace, and shuttle deliveries for the
duration of the Ag season (estimated August – November).


Essential Functions
This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict
the tasks that may be assigned.
• Dispatch Functions
• Supports all Ag Logistics operations and support services, including dispatching,
paperwork completion, and system entry and accuracy.
• Communicates daily with growers, wineries, grower relations, carriers, and traffic for field
trailer placements (prelims), on time pick up and load deliveries, drop/shuttle loads,
program issues, over weights, light loads, accidents, equipment failures, late loads, etc.
• Familiarizes truck drivers concerning entrances, staging areas and exits for each load site.
• Dispatches trucks relative to rate of harvesting for each load site.
• Obtains and communicates a “final” load count at each load site.
• Communicates end of the day trailer inspections and ensures that all loads are picked up
at each load site.
• Billing Functions
• Prints and distributes applicable shipping documentation to include validation of accuracy
and compliance to shipping document protocol.
• Participates in auditing freight billing and load information for accuracy, and files
documentation related to related to shipments in a timely manner.
• Utilizes systems to develop reports and metrics for customers and carriers.
• Assists in Reconciliation of billing discrepancies.
• Common Functions
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and
safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for
ensuring their understanding and compliance.
• Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• Required to work a variety of hours 6-7 days per week and on call as needed during the Ag
season.
• Work overtime and weekend shifts when required.
• Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short
correspondence and memos.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required
to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.


Preferred Qualifications
• 2 years experience in an Ag related field reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Skilled in MS Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint at a basic level.
• Experience working with high performance work teams and providing support to achieve plan
goals.
• Skilled in Logistics Scheduling and Dispatching.
• Experience with a Grape Management System.
• Experience with effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Experience with defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid
conclusions.
• Skilled in handling unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refer to
the appropriate individual.
• Experience with working with all levels and functions within the Company.
• Deals with issues in a calm and methodical manner.
• Deals with issues with high level of urgency.
• Bilingual (Spanish).
• Good communication skills.
• Experience effectively working against defined goals in a fast paced environment.
• Experience critically assessing situation, solving problems, and working effectively under stress.
• Experience with multitasking and time management.
• Experience with heavy phone usage.

Compensation

Hiring Hourly Rate: $19.00

Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
