Are you an experienced Family Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE looking for the opportunity to take the next step towards departmental leadership? Our client is a well‑established and respected high street law firm in Windsor, with a strong local reputation and a loyal client base. Following the planned retirement of a long‑standing Family Partner, the firm is now looking to appoint an ambitious Senior Family Solicitor as part of its succession planning strategy.
This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced Family Lawyer who wants to develop their leadership responsibilities and ultimately progress into a Head of Family/Department Head position.
The Opportunity
- You’ll join an established Family department and take responsibility for a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, while working closely with the existing team and senior management.
- Your caseload is likely to include:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy and matrimonial finance
- Complex financial settlements
- Private children matters
- Child arrangements and disputes
- Cohabitation and separation agreements
- Pre‑nuptial and post‑nuptial agreements
- Domestic abuse and associated protective measures
- High‑net‑worth and complex family matters
The role will also provide the opportunity to become increasingly involved in the development and leadership of the department, including mentoring junior colleagues, supporting workflow, developing client relationships and contributing to business development.
About You
- We’re looking for an ambitious Family Solicitor who is ready for a genuine career progression opportunity. You’ll ideally have:
- 5+ years' PQE in Family Law
- Strong experience across private family work
- Good experience handling financial remedy and matrimonial finance matters
- Experience with private children work
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- The ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong commercial awareness
- A genuine interest in business development and networking
- Previous supervision or mentoring experience would be advantageous
- Most importantly, the ambition and potential to progress into Head of Department
