Are you an experienced Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, or Legal Administrator looking for your next opportunity in Family Law? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established law firm in Walsall seeking a proactive and organised Family Legal Secretarial Assistant to support a Solicitor specialising in Private Family Law matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration, diary management and client communication skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment. Experience within a law firm is preferred and knowledge of the Legal Aid Portal would be highly advantageous. Full training will be provided on the firm's Case Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Typing and preparing file notes, legal correspondence and client letters
- Recording time spent on files for billing and compliance purposes
- Managing the Solicitor's diary and scheduling appointments
- Monitoring court hearing dates and ensuring clients are updated on times, dates and venues
- Assisting with Legal Aid applications and responding to queries via the Legal Aid Portal
- Preparing and organising electronic court bundles for Family Court hearings
- Billing private client files and supporting credit control activities
- Liaising with Barristers, Experts, Courts, clients and third-party professionals
- Providing professional telephone and administrative support
Skills and Experience

You will ideally possess:
- Previous legal secretarial or legal administration experience

- Experience using the Legal Aid Portal (desirable but not essential)
