An established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy Residential Conveyancing team based at its Head Office in Walsall.

This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual looking to further their career within a supportive legal environment.

The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and legal support to fee earners while helping to ensure residential property transactions progress efficiently from instruction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

The Conveyancing Legal Assistant will be responsible for

  • Opening new digital client files and maintaining accurate case records.
  • Answering telephone calls from clients, lenders and third parties, responding to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Greeting and assisting clients attending the office.
  • Scanning and uploading incoming post to the relevant electronic files.
  • Ensuring all required client documentation is received and recorded at the appropriate stage of the transaction.
  • Assisting with pre‑completion and post‑completion processes.
  • Preparing contract packs.
  • Ordering property searches.
  • Managing SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
  • Liaising with mortgage lenders and other external parties.
  • Providing day‑to‑day administrative and legal support to fee earners across a busy conveyancing caseload.

About you

Applicants should have a minimum of 1–2 years' experience working within a Residential Conveyancing team in a similar support role.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate

  • Previous conveyancing experience within a legal practice.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication and client care abilities.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines.
