About the Firm

Our growing Court of Protection team is recognised for its sensitive and client‑focused approach, supporting vulnerable individuals and their families through complex legal matters involving capacity and financial management.

The Role

You will take a lead role in managing a varied and often high‑net‑worth caseload of property and financial affairs deputyships, often involving complex injuries or capacity issues. You will act as a trusted advisor to lay and professional clients, oversee junior team members and contribute to the strategic growth of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as professional deputy or trustee in complex cases
  • Managing client finances and long‑term care planning
  • Handling statutory will, gifting and Court applications
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members
  • Supporting business development and client relationship management
  • Collaborating with the wider Private Client, PI and Clinical Negligence teams

About You

  • A qualified solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE
  • Strong and demonstrable experience in Court of Protection (property & affairs)
  • Comfortable dealing with vulnerable clients and their families with empathy
  • A confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Able to manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision
  • STEP‑qualified or working towards (desirable)
  • Experience with high‑value personal injury/clinical negligence settlements (advantageous)
