Residential Property Lawyer (3-5 Years PQE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Property Lawyer to join a thriving and growing property team at a well-regarded law firm in Tunbridge Wells.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Conveyancing Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive seeking high-quality work, strong support and genuine career progression within a modern and client-focused practice.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters from instruction through to completion, acting for a diverse client base across Kent, Sussex and the wider South East.
The caseload will include:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Transfers of equity
- Re-mortgages
- New build transactions
- Shared ownership matters
- Leasehold enquiries and management company issues
- Declarations of Trust
- Title investigations
- SDLT submissions
- Land Registry applications
You will have exposure to more complex conveyancing matters, including leasehold transactions involving managing agents, freeholders and third-party enquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently
- Conducting title investigations and reporting to clients
- Raising and responding to enquiries
- Reviewing searches and advising clients on risk
- Drafting and reviewing contracts and transfer deeds
- Preparing Declarations of Trust and associated documentation
- Acting for mortgage lenders in accordance with UK Finance Lender Handbook requirements
- Submitting SDLT returns and Land Registry applications
- Delivering exceptional client service throughout the transaction process
About You
To be successful in this position, you will:
- Be a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive
- Have approximately 3-5 years' PQE or equivalent residential conveyancing experience
- Possess strong technical knowledge across all aspects of residential property law
- Be confident handling leasehold transactions and more complex title issues
- Have excellent client care and communication skills
- Be capable of managing files with minimal supervision
- Enjoy working within a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Have experience of or familiarity with CQS standards
