If you’re a Real Estate Solicitor with an interest in rural property and land-based projects, this is a unique opportunity to join a market-leading Rural Business team in Aberdeen. Working within a specialist group advising on some of Scotland’s most significant estates and rural portfolios, you’ll gain exposure to a diverse and evolving sector. This role is ideal for a Solicitor looking to build a long-term career in rural property law, with high-quality work spanning traditional land use through to emerging natural capital and renewable energy projects.

The role:

As a Senior Solicitor / Associate within the Rural Business team, you will work on a wide range of rural property matters including the purchase and sale of estates, farms, forestry and other rural assets. You’ll advise landowners and rural businesses on development opportunities including residential schemes, renewables, telecommunications and natural capital initiatives such as carbon and biodiversity projects. The role will also involve advising on agricultural holdings, rural tenancies, estate management work and a range of title and land-related issues. You’ll gain experience across both transactional and advisory work, supporting clients with commercially focused legal solutions.

About you:

  • Has experience in property or real estate law (ideally 3+ PQE)
  • Has an interest in rural business, land or natural capital
  • Is commercially minded and enjoys client‑facing work
  • Is confident managing transactions and providing advice
  • Demonstrates communication and organisational skills
  • Is motivated to build a specialist career in rural property law
