Our client is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor (5+ years PQE) to join its growing Claimant Clinical Negligence team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Solicitor looking to take the next step in their litigation career within a well-established and supportive team, handling high-quality and complex medical negligence cases.

This role offers a highly flexible remote-first working arrangement, requiring attendance at the Reading office just two days per month, making it ideal for candidates seeking greater flexibility while remaining part of a collaborative and successful team.

You will manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters with a high degree of autonomy, while also playing a key role in supporting junior colleagues and contributing to wider team strategy.

The Role

As a Clinical Negligence Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload of claimant medical negligence claims and play an integral role in delivering exceptional client outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence claims from inception through to resolution
  • Progressing claims through pre-action protocol, litigation, negotiation and settlement
  • Drafting Letters of Claim, witness statements, pleadings, schedules of loss and settlement documentation
  • Identifying and progressing cases ready for Letter of Claim, issue, service, negotiation, or settlement
  • Advising clients strategically on liability, quantum and litigation risks
  • Working closely with senior leadership on complex case strategy
  • Supporting and mentoring Junior Solicitors and Team Members
  • Maintaining accurate time recording and effective case management
  • Delivering exceptional standards of client care and communication
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the department
Your Requirements

Qualified Solicitors with 5+ years PQE

  • Experienced in managing a litigated claimant clinical negligence caseload independently
  • Confident handling complex, high-value matters with minimal supervision
  • Strong in legal drafting, negotiation and litigation strategy
  • Experienced in mentoring or supervising junior team members
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office (Proclaim experience desirable)
  • Commercially aware with a strong client-focused approach
