We are recruiting for an experienced Residential Property Conveyancer/Executive to join a leading, well-established legal practice in York on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a key role within a busy property team delivering high-quality residential conveyancing services in one of the region's most active property markets.
You will manage a diverse caseload of sale and purchase transactions from file opening through to completion, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and professional stakeholders alike.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential property transactions at all stages, from initial client engagement to post-completion file archiving
- Take clear and comprehensive instructions from clients and provide practical, jargon‑free guidance
- Prepare and review documentation, contracts and correspondence in line with firm standards and regulatory requirements
- Ensure timely billing and collection of funds due from clients and third parties
- Support junior team members and undertake delegated supervisory responsibilities when required
- Maintain and develop strong technical knowledge of residential conveyancing and related practice procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2+ years' solid experience in residential conveyancing at a solicitor or licensed conveyancer level
- Deep technical understanding of freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work autonomously under pressure
- A customer‑centric approach, delivering service that is both professional and reassuring
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and legal case management systems
