An established and progressive legal practice is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its growing Private Client department. This opportunity is ideally suited to a STEP-qualified practitioner or someone looking to take on high-quality work within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering tailored legal advice with a personal approach and continues to attract a high calibre of private client work, including complex estates, trusts, succession planning and Court of Protection matters.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while playing an active role in the continued development and strategic direction of the department.
Role
The Private Client Solicitor will manage a varied and high-quality private client caseload, with exposure to complex and often high-value matters. Key responsibilities may include:
- Advising on complex wills and succession planning
- Managing the administration of taxable and high-value estates
- Trust creation, administration and advisory work
- Handling Court of Protection and professional deputyship matters
- Providing inheritance tax and estate planning advice
- Supporting elderly and vulnerable clients with sensitive matters
- Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the Private Client department
- Developing a specialist area of expertise where preferred
This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to work on technically challenging matters rather than high-volume transactional work.
About You
The firm is seeking a confident and technically strong Private Client Solicitor with excellent client care skills and the ability to handle complex matters with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- Significant experience within Private Client law
- STEP qualification or full TEP membership preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of trusts, estates, inheritance tax and succession planning
- Experience advising on sensitive and complex client matters
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
