A well‑established and supportive regional law firm is seeking a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its friendly and growing Private Client team in Newhaven. This opportunity offers flexibility, with both full‑time and part‑time options available, as well as some home working. The Role

You will support a Partner and collaborate closely with a dedicated team of Private Client Solicitors and Practitioners. The workload will focus on services tailored to elderly and vulnerable clients, including:

  • Preparation of Wills
  • Drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Probate work
  • Ongoing management of elderly client affairs, including financial and healthcare matters

This is a hands‑on role where you will help deliver high‑quality Private Client services and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage elements of fee‑earning work independently or under supervision, including:
    • File creation
    • Preparing client care correspondence
    • Completing client questionnaires
    • Drafting legal documentation
    • Attending client meetings
    • Managing elderly client affairs
  • Handle routine client enquiries and communications
  • Maintain accurate matter start/completion data and prepare claims for costs
  • Progress client matters in line with internal quality standards and compliance procedures
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and support departmental growth
  • Achieve fee income targets
  • Maintain CPD and stay updated on changes in Private Client law and practice
  • Supervise and support junior team members
  • Follow risk management procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of all firm and client information
