A leading Legal 500 Top 50 UK law firm is looking to appoint a Planning Legal Director to join its growing northern team, based in either Manchester or Leeds. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced planning lawyer who wants to step into a visible role within a national team and work towards Partnership in the medium term. The team already acts for many of the UK’s largest housebuilders and developers and sits on a number of major housebuilder panels, advising on large scale residential schemes and strategic developments across the UK.

You will play a key role in growing the northern planning offering alongside highly regarded partners in the team. The role will involve advising on:

  • Town and country planning
  • Planning applications and strategic land promotion
  • Highways and compulsory purchase matters
  • Planning enforcement and litigation
  • Development consent orders (DCO) and infrastructure projects
  • Section 106 agreements and large residential developments

You will work closely with an established national planning team while helping to expand the practice in the North West and Yorkshire markets. You will:

  • Be a Planning Solicitor with 8+ years’ PQE
  • Have strong experience across development and planning matters
  • Enjoy client development and building relationships in the market
  • Be looking for a clear pathway to Partnership
