A leading law firm in Reading is seeking an Employment Professional Support Lawyer (PSL)/Knowledge Lawyer to join its established Employment team in Reading on a part-time (3 days per week) basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Solicitor (4+ PQE) looking to transition into a non-fee earning, knowledge-focused role, or for an experienced PSL seeking greater flexibility.
You will play a central role in shaping the team’s legal knowledge, training strategy and technical excellence, working closely with partners and fee earners.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and interpret UK employment law developments, including case law and legislation
- Deliver training programmes, workshops and legal updates to Solicitors and Trainees
- Draft and maintain precedents, templates and know-how resources
- Provide technical support on complex employment law queries
- Produce client-facing insights, articles and thought leadership content
- Support business development and pitch materials with technical input
- Drive consistency and best practice across the Employment team
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with strong employment law experience
- Ideally 4+ PQE (flexible depending on background)
- Experience as a Professional Support Lawyer/Knowledge Lawyer OR a strong interest in moving into a PSL role
- Excellent drafting, training and communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge of employment law, HR advisory work and tribunal processes
- Commercial awareness and ability to translate legal developments into practical guidance
- Competitive salary aligned with market data £50k–£55k
