The Role
You will manage a varied and interesting caseload of Health & Welfare Court of Protection matters, including:
- Applications and proceedings relating to:
- Mental capacity
- Best interests
- Residence
- Care and contact
- Managing a caseload of Health & Welfare Court of Protection matters
- Drafting applications, witness statements and other court documents
- Instructing counsel where appropriate
- Conducting advocacy and attending Court of Protection hearings (where appropriate)
- Advising clients, family members, professionals and deputies on capacity and best interests issues
- Supervising junior team members where appropriate
About You
- Qualified Solicitor
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Care Act 2014
- Associated case law
- Excellent drafting, communication and advocacy skills
- Compassionate, client-focused approach with the ability to manage sensitive matters
