A leading Legal 100 law firm is seeking a Chartered Legal Executive to join its Cardiff office on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity to handle a varied caseload of industrial disease and claimant personal injury matters, working as part of a well-established litigation team.

You will take responsibility for progressing claims through the litigation process, from initial instruction through to settlement or trial, with regular client contact and exposure to complex cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of claimant personal injury and industrial disease files
  • Progress claims from pre-action stage through to resolution or trial
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence
  • Liaise with counsel, medical experts and other professionals
  • Prepare trial bundles and assist with hearing preparation
  • Attend hearings where appropriate
  • Support settlement discussions and ADR processes
  • Assist in the supervision and development of trainees and paralegals
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practice initiatives
About You
  • Qualified Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) with 1+ year PQE
  • Experience running your own claimant PI caseload
  • Exposure to multi-track personal injury litigation is beneficial
  • Industrial disease experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Strong organisational skills and a client-focused approach
