An established and highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join its growing Real Estate team as a Senior Associate. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with a strong background in development work to take on a client-facing role within a collaborative and ambitious practice.

You will advise a diverse portfolio of clients, including developers, investors, landowners, occupiers and commercial landlords, while handling a broad range of complex real estate matters. In addition to managing high-quality transactional work, you will play a key role in mentoring junior team members and supporting the continued growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied caseload of commercial property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant work and development transactions.
  • Advise clients on development projects, including land acquisitions, site assembly arrangements, promotion and option agreements, conditional contracts, overage provisions and related matters.
  • Conduct detailed title reviews, oversee due diligence exercises, negotiate enquiries and prepare comprehensive reports for clients and lenders.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial property documentation, including leases, licences, agreements for lease, sale contracts and transfer documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing commercially focused legal advice and identifying opportunities for further work.
  • Support business development initiatives through networking, client meetings, pitches and market engagement activities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, trainees and support staff, providing guidance and technical support where required.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with approximately 5+ years' PQE gained within commercial property.
  • Strong experience handling landlord and tenant matters alongside commercial acquisitions and disposals.
  • Demonstrable experience advising on development-related transactions, including options, promotion agreements, overage arrangements, conditional contracts, site assembly and land acquisitions.
  • Experience acting for developers, landowners, investors, landlords, tenants and/or property investment businesses.
  • Solid understanding of commercial real estate finance and development structures.
  • Ability to independently manage transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior legal professionals.
  • Commercially aware with an interest in business development and practice growth.
