A well-established South Yorkshire law firm is looking to appoint a Family Partner to lead and grow its matrimonial offering from its Barnsley office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious senior family lawyer to take on a leadership role with genuine autonomy, a strong existing client base and the opportunity to shape the future of the department.

The role has a particular focus on matrimonial finance, acting for a broad range of clients on complex financial remedy matters while supporting the continued growth of the wider family team.

The Role

  • Lead a caseload of predominantly matrimonial finance matters, including high value financial remedy cases
  • Advise clients on divorce, separation, cohabitation and pre and post nuptial agreements
  • Handle private children matters where required
  • Play a key role in developing and growing the family department
  • Build and maintain relationships with referrers, professional contacts and existing clients
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team

About You

  • An experienced Family Solicitor ready to step into, or already operating at, Partner level
  • Strong background in matrimonial finance and complex financial remedy work
  • Commercially minded with an interest in business development
  • Confident managing high value client relationships
