The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE to join the firm's Legal team, working within a specialist non-contentious commercial IP practice.
The role will involve advising clients on a broad range of commercial and technology-focused matters, with a particular emphasis on the development, protection, exploitation and commercialisation of intellectual property.
The successful candidate will work on a varied caseload involving commercial agreements, IT contracts, IP licensing and technology transactions, with the opportunity to develop further expertise across the intersection of commercial law, intellectual property and technology.
Matters may include software and Saa S arrangements, collaboration and R&D agreements, IP assignments and licensing, terms and conditions, supply and distribution agreements, and other commercial arrangements.
This is an opportunity to join a team that takes a highly commercial and pragmatic approach to legal advice, working closely with clients to understand their businesses and provide solutions that are tailored to their individual requirements.

Salary

Responsibilities
- Advising clients on a broad range of non-contentious commercial and IP matters.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and IT agreements.
- Advising on IP licensing and assignment arrangements.
- Working on software licensing and Saa S agreements.
- Advising on collaboration and R&D agreements.
- Assisting with supply, distribution, agency and other commercial agreements.
- Advising on terms and conditions and other contractual documentation.
- Supporting clients in relation to the commercialisation and exploitation of their intellectual property.
- Developing strong and lasting client relationships.
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider IP and Legal teams.
- Providing commercially focused and pragmatic legal advice.
- Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the practice.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE.
- Experience in non-contentious commercial law.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Experience with IT, technology or IP-related matters.
- Exposure to licensing work is highly desirable.
- An interest in or involvement with intellectual property is essential.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- A commercially minded approach and the ability to understand clients' wider business objectives.
- Able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a specialist team.
