About the Role
We are looking for a Product Engineer who is highly product-minded, fast-moving, and comfortable owning front-end development in a startup environment. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product thinking, and execution, with a strong emphasis on Point of Sale (POS) systems. You will work closely with founders and engineers to build, improve, and scale a POS platform used on tablet devices. While the team has strong backend coverage, the biggest need is on the front end, particularly around React, TypeScript, and React Native. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys moving quickly, shipping features, and maintaining high UI and code quality while working in an AI-accelerated development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and build front-end features for a POS product used primarily on tablet devices
- Work extensively with React, TypeScript, and React Native (some Next.js exposure)
- Improve UI/UX quality and refactor existing codebases to maintain performance and cleanliness
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers while focusing primarily on front-end delivery
- Apply strong product thinking: understand the product deeply and translate requirements into high-quality implementations
- Help guide and mentor other developers when needed
- Move fast in a startup environment while maintaining code quality
- Leverage AI tools in development workflows while ensuring long-term maintainability
Required Experience & Skills
- Mandatory experience working with POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with React Native (tablet or mobile applications)
- Solid front-end engineering background with a product-focused mindset
- Experience working in startup or fast-paced environments
- Comfortable shipping features quickly and iterating based on feedback
- Ability to balance speed and code quality in AI-assisted development
- 5+ years of professional experience preferred (flexible based on candidate fit)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Next.js
- Experience guiding or mentoring engineers
- Familiarity with AI-driven development workflows
- Experience working on B2B SaaS or fintech products
What We’re Looking For
- Product-first engineers who understand why they’re building something, not just how
- Engineers who thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy ownership
- Candidates who care deeply about UI quality and performance
- People who communicate clearly and collaborate well with founders and teammates
