We are seeking an experienced contract Design Project Manager to oversee the full design lifecycle of large-scale data centre projects across the UK. The role involves managing design delivery from preliminary design through to construction and final as-built documentation, ensuring compliance with client standards, coordination across multiple stakeholders, and seamless integration between all project phases.
The successful candidate will lead design coordination across Core & Shell, Utilities, Foundations, and Fit Out packages while managing BIM coordination, technical submittals, IFC deliverables, design reviews, permitting, and construction support activities. UK travel may be required for workshops, milestone meetings, and project coordination.
Requirements:- Proven experience managing design on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects within the UK
- Strong background in BIM coordination and technical design management
- Experience managing IFC deliverables, RFIs, technical submittals, and contractor design reviews
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to review complex technical documentation and ensure compliance with project standards
- Professional accreditation such as CEng, PE, or PMP is advantageous
- UK data centre experience
- Design management experience across multiple project stages
- Strong understanding of UK construction design processes and coordination
- Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams and contractors
- Ability to manage design risk, QA procedures, and construction-phase support
- Willingness to travel within the UK as required
