Senior Electrical Engineer – HV Substations & Grid Infrastructure – Contract
Start: ASAP or within 4–6 weeks
Duration: Initial 12 months
Location: Remote UK with occasional site/client visits if required
Rates: DOE, outside IR35
We’re supporting multiple large-scale HV infrastructure and renewable grid connection projects across the UK. We\’re looking to engage experienced Senior Electrical Engineers to take a lead role in design and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- HV substation design (33kV to 275kV), including switchgear layouts, single-line diagrams, and protection systems
- Grid connection studies and interface with DNOs and TSOs
- HV cable routing, earthing, and insulation coordination
- Cross-discipline coordination with civils, structural and mechanical teams
- Participation in FEED, detailed design, and construction support phases
- Technical documentation, specifications, and peer design reviews
