G2 Recruitment is working with a leading specialist electrical contractor delivering mission-critical projects across Europe. We are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Electrical Estimator to join the team on a project basis. The successful candidate must be available to work on-site in Ireland and will play a key role in the tendering and estimating function across a portfolio of high-value construction projects spanning data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewables, and critical infrastructure.

As Freelance Senior Electrical Estimator you will take ownership of the full estimating cycle from inception through to submission. Working closely with Contracts Managers, QS teams, and the Design and Engineering department, you will produce accurate, competitive tenders for both pre-designed and design and construct projects across MV and LV electrical packages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management of estimating new projects from inception to submission.
  • Setting up estimates, tender packs and applicable trackers.
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and clients.
  • Preparing take-offs for LV and MV cabling and containment systems from drawings.
  • Inputting take-offs and quotes to relevant estimate formats.
  • Producing bills of quantities, schedules of work and contractors' proposal documents to support bids.
  • Assisting in the handover to the operational delivery team.
  • Developing strong inter-departmental relationships working closely with Contracts Managers, QS's and the Design and Engineering department.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in electrical estimating, ideally within a specialist electrical contractor environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of LV and MV cabling, busbar, and containment systems.
  • Experience preparing take-offs and tenders from electrical drawings.
  • Comfortable working across data centre, pharmaceutical, renewables, or critical infrastructure projects.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard estimating formats.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work on-site in Ireland — candidates must hold the right to work and provide services on a freelance basis in Ireland.
