I am currently assisting one of my Local Authority clients in Kent to identify a Senior Environmental Protection Officer to hit the ground running. Hybrid working arrangement – office/site attendance required 3 days per fortnight.
Applicants must hold a recognised Environmental Health degree and have substantial experience within Environmental Protection, particularly contaminated land and nuisance investigation work.
Key responsibilities- Act as the technical lead for contaminated land matters, including reviewing detailed technical reports and providing comments on planning applications relating to land contamination.
- Manage the investigation and resolution of noise and statutory nuisance complaints.
- Work across environmental permitting and private water supplies.
- Serve statutory notices and, where required, represent the service at Licensing Hearings and Court proceedings.
- Respond to service requests and carry out inspections at both domestic and commercial premises.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Investigate issues such as odour, artificial light, and noise nuisance.
- Take appropriate enforcement action where necessary.
