Role Overview

The Senior Project Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of complex engineering and construction activities. Working across multiple UK locations, you will support project teams, oversee contractor performance, and provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project teams in planning and delivering construction and engineering works across live and new‑build data‑centre environments.
  • Oversee contractor performance, quality assurance, and compliance with mission‑critical engineering standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, progress reviews, and technical audits across M&E and structural packages.
  • Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and engineering change proposals.
  • Provide engineering input into design development, constructability reviews, and technical queries.
  • Support project controls, reporting, and programme management activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and delivery processes.
  • Engage with site teams, consultants, and senior stakeholders across the data‑centre portfolio.

Skills Required

  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, critical infrastructure, and high‑resilience design principles.
  • Ability to operate in fast‑paced, multi‑contractor environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
  • Competence in reviewing engineering documentation, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data centres, mission‑critical facilities, or other high‑resilience engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, construction safety, and engineering governance.
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and technical reviews.
  • Ability to travel to multiple UK sites as required.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
