G2 Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading UK engineering and construction firm to recruit multiple Design Managers for major build projects across London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol. This is a key opportunity for experienced professionals to step into a strategic role, managing design and technical coordination on a diverse portfolio of projects. Reporting into the Regional Design Lead, you'll play a vital role from pre-construction through delivery—ensuring innovative, practical and cost-effective design solutions that meet client and business objectives.

Role Overview:

  • Lead the design function across both temporary and permanent works on live sites and during tender phases
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align design proposals with project goals and operational constraints
  • Prepare, manage and integrate design programmes into the master project schedule
  • Act as the Designer under CDM Regulations during the pre-construction stage
  • Support bids with design content, technical input, and compliance oversight
  • Manage external consultants and ensure timely delivery of coordinated design packages

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or an equivalent discipline
  • Experience working with main contractors in a design coordination/management role
  • Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other project collaboration platforms
  • Attention to detail and a solution-driven mindset
  • A collaborative approach, able to work confidently within multi-disciplinary teams
  • A track record of delivering high-quality design coordination on large-scale construction projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of buildability and construction sequencing
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and high standards of delivery
