A local authority client of mine is currently looking for an Interim Finance Business Partner with DSG/General Fund experience to join their team on an initial 6 months contract.

Contract Duration: 6 Months (very likely to extend further)

Location: London

Rate: DOE

IR35: Inside IR35

Hybrid: Minimum 1 day in office per week

Days: 5 days per week (can also consider part time)

Earliest Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Finance business partnering and working closely with the education service
  • DSG responsibilities
  • Home to school transport, working with the SEND teams
  • Awareness of technical recruitment, funding streams, how funding works etc.
  • Support the Senior Finance Business Partner with workloads
  • This isn’t a technical role as the council already has people dealing with payments, invoices, managing inboxes etc.
  • This role will involve talking to stakeholders, signing off reports, checking budget availability, helping with forecasts, drafting financial implications, ensuring governance is in place, and staying updated with what is going on within DSG
  • This is a purely hands-on role, not strategic, and there will not be any management responsibilities

Candidates:

  • Must have specific finance business partnering experience within DSG & General Fund
  • Ideally would have a minimum of 1 year local authority experience within the above
  • Do not necessarily need to be fully qualified; happy to consider part qualified as well as candidates who are qualified by experience
