G2 are working with a leading data centre operator supporting the delivery, optimisation, and ongoing engineering performance of multiple mission-critical facilities across the London region. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide hands-on field engineering support across construction, commissioning, operations, and expansion activities within a high-growth data centre portfolio. This position sits within the regional engineering function and offers broad exposure to electrical systems performance, commissioning oversight, incident response, and technical governance across a multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct electrical design reviews, equipment assessments, and installation checks during pre-construction and build phases
  • Provide on-site electrical expertise during live commissioning, testing, and system validation
  • Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) investigations and drive corrective actions following electrical or system failures
  • Support capacity planning, power system upgrades, and wider electrical improvement initiatives
  • Perform site engineering audits, technical inspections, and produce detailed reporting
  • Work closely with construction, operations, engineering, and H&S teams to ensure continuity and consistency across projects
  • Deliver ad-hoc engineering support including documentation updates, procedural reviews, and troubleshooting
  • Act as the technical representative during construction, commissioning, and operational handovers

Requirements

  • Strong background in electrical engineering within mission-critical environments - Data Centres experience.
  • Experience with LV/MV systems, power distribution, critical backup systems, and electrical infrastructure
  • Proven experience in commissioning, field engineering, or construction-focused electrical roles
  • Ability to operate across multiple sites and manage competing priorities
  • Skilled in fault diagnostics, technical reporting, and continuous improvement practices
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, multinational, multi-site environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage vendors, site teams, and senior stakeholders
  • Health & Safety awareness; relevant qualifications advantageous
