Lead Licensing Officer – Rate negotiable – 21hrs per week – Hybrid working pattern – Start date ASAP.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Council's licensing function
- Lead risk‑based compliance, investigations and enforcement action
- Conduct inspections of licensed premises and vehicles to ensure compliance with licensed conditions
- Process all types of licensing applications and temporary event notices
- Investigate complaints and support enforcement action where necessary
- Prepare reports of Licensing Sub‑Committee hearings and attend hearings
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of Licensing Act 2003
- Experience leading a function, project or service area
- Vast experience in preparing reports and attending Licensing Sub‑Committee hearings
- Knowledge of enforcement principles, investigations, evidence requirements and relevant legal frameworks such as PACE
- Fully qualified to carry out animal licensing inspections
