I am currently assisting my client in the Southwest identify a Lead Licensing Officer to support them for the next 6 months.
- Rate: Negotiable
- Hours: 21hrs per week
- Working Pattern: Hybrid
- Start Date: ASAP
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Council's licensing function
- Lead risk-based compliance, investigations and enforcement action
- Conduct inspections of licensed premises and vehicles to ensure compliance with licensed conditions
- Process all types of licensing applications and temporary event notices
- Investigate complaints and support enforcement action where necessary
- Prepare reports of Licensing Sub-Committee hearings and attend hearings
Essential skills:
- Strong knowledge of Licensing Act 2003
- Experience leading a function, project or service area
- Vast experience in preparing reports and attending Licensing Sub-Committee hearings
- Knowledge of enforcement principles, investigations, evidence requirements and relevant legal frameworks such as PACE
- Fully qualified to carry out animal licensing inspections
