A local government client in the North West of England is currently looking for an Interim Senior Revenue Accountant to join their team as a member of staff is soon retiring.

Contract Duration: 6 months +

Location: North West England

Rate: £400-£500 per day, DOE.

IR35: TBC (Potential for outside IR35).

Hybrid: The preference is 2-3 days in the office per week. For a very experienced candidate, could consider 1 day in the office per week.

Days: 5 days per week is the preference (could also consider 4 days per week).

Start Date: ASAP

You will be expected to:

  • Oversee and be highly involved in SOA completion – mainly key statements and revenue notes.
  • Be involved in collating budget monitoring reports quarterly. You will likely pick up Q4 25/26 and Q1 26/27.
  • There may also be some involvement in collection funds.
  • Line manage 2 members of staff (1 directly).

Successful candidates:

  • Will have experience of closing down local authority accounts from the revenue side. This can be leading or contributing.
  • Will have experience of key statements as well as notes to the accounts.
  • Collection fund experience is non-essential but desirable.
  • You do not necessarily need to be a fully qualified accountant. While it would be beneficial, the client is happy to consider candidates who are also part qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Will be willing to attend the office anywhere from 1-3 days per week.
