A local authority client of mine in London are currently on the lookout for an Interim Principal Accountant (Revenues) to join their team on an initial 6 month contract.
Contract Duration: 6 Months (likely to go on for 12 months+)
Rate: DOE
IR35: Inside IR35.
Hybrid: 1 day in office per week (around peak year end April-May, will be 2 days in office per week).
Days: 5 days per week.
Earliest Start Date: ASAP
Main duties:
- The council split their Corporate Finance team down the middle, one side does capital and the other side is revenue. This position is for revenue.
- Assisting the Chief Accountant and Deputy Chief Accountant with the production of the statement of accounts/getting through audit.
- Complete statutory and non-government returns such as the NNDR1-3, CTR1, Revenue Outturn Returns and Whole Government Accounts.
- Revenue grants accounting and reserves.
- Collection Funds working through audit queries, reviewing what needs to be done, amending the statement of accounts and feeding back to auditors.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must have specific local authority experience doing the above.
- Must have specific revenue accounting experience feeding into the statement of accounts.
- Must have experience liaising with auditors.
