Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Finance Business Partner for Education Services and the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG).
- Lead budget setting, forecasting, and financial monitoring across Education budgets.
- Provide financial advice and challenge to Education leaders, budget holders, and senior stakeholders.
- Support DSG management, including High Needs, Schools Block, and Early Years funding.
- Produce financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Identify financial risks, pressures, savings, and funding opportunities.
- Support budget recovery plans, SEND financial management, and DSG sustainability initiatives.
- Contribute to year-end accounts, statutory returns, and audit requirements.
Successful Candidates
- Fully CCAB qualified (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
- Must have Local Authority experience.
- Experience in a Finance Business Partner or Education Finance role.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
- Previous experience working with DSG-funded services.
- Knowledge of High Needs, SEND, Schools Funding, and Education finance.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
