We’re looking for a qualified electrician with a practical interest in engines and mechanical systems to join a UK-wide generator service team. This role supports critical telecoms infrastructure, ensuring backup power systems remain fully operational.

Key Requirements (Essential)

  • ECS Gold Card holder
  • Qualified Electrician
  • Hands-on experience with engines (professional or personal)
  • Strong interest in generator mechanics and power systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable towing trailers
  • Willing to work away from home (approx. 3–4 nights per week)
  • Able to participate in on-call rota (1 week in every 4–5, 24/7 cover)
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Role Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and install generators at telecoms sites
  • Configure and program generator control systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults
  • Complete service reports and documentation (home-based admin days)
  • Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards

Working Pattern

  • 40 hours per week on-site
  • Monday to Friday
  • Regular overtime
  • Frequent UK travel and overnight stays

Project Details

  • Supporting telecoms infrastructure (EE network – not directly employed by EE)
  • Working on generator systems at telephone base stations
  • Ensuring continuous uptime through servicing and reactive maintenance
