We're looking for a qualified electrician with a practical interest in engines and mechanical systems to join a UK-wide generator service team. This role supports critical telecoms infrastructure, ensuring backup power systems remain fully operational.
Key Requirements (Essential)
- ECS Gold Card holder
- Qualified Electrician
- Hands-on experience with engines (professional or personal)
- Strong interest in generator mechanics and power systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable towing trailers
- Willing to work away from home (approx. 3–4 nights per week)
- Able to participate in on-call rota (1 week in every 4–5, 24/7 cover)
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable Experience
- Telecoms infrastructure

- DC power / battery systems
- Previous work on backup power systems or generators
Role Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and install generators at telecoms sites
- Configure and program generator control systems
- Diagnose and repair faults
- Complete service reports and documentation (home-based admin days)
- Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards
Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week on-site Monday to Friday
- Regular overtime
- Frequent UK travel and overnight stays
Project Details
- Supporting telecoms infrastructure (EE network – not directly employed by EE)
- Working on generator systems at telephone base stations
- Ensuring continuous uptime through servicing and reactive maintenance

Location: UK-wide role (coverage across England, Scotland, potentially as far as Southampton). Work concentrated in the East of the UK. Office base: Barnstaple.
