Job Description
A well-established and respected national law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor or CILEX-qualified Employment Lawyer to join its growing Home Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) team.
This is a flexible opportunity offering remote or hybrid working from the Leeds office.
You'll provide expert legal advice across a broad range of employment law matters to corporate clients, internal stakeholders, and policyholders, particularly those covered by LEI and employment-related insurance products.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing both external client employment matters and internal employee relations issues, giving you a rare blend of legal and strategic responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of employment disputes (litigated and non-litigated)
- Advise on internal employment issues affecting the firm’s own staff
- Provide real-time employment law advice to clients and policyholders via helpline services
- Ensure compliance with internal service level agreements, procedures, and policies
- Review and improve internal HR and employment law policies
- Support colleagues with technical supervision on complex legal matters
- Contribute to the implementation and improvement of legal tech solutions
- Deliver both internal and external employment law training
- Maintain excellent standards of client care and proactive case management
- Identify employment-related risks and escalate as appropriate
- Contribute to business strategy through MI analysis and reporting
About You
You will be a confident, technically strong legal professional with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor or Member/Fellow of CILEX
- Proven experience managing a broad range of employment law matters, both contentious and advisory
- Strong communication skills and a client-first approach
- Comfortable balancing external legal work with internal strategic HR support
