About the Role
This role sits within the firm’s busy Formalities Department, leading the European Patent Grant and Validation (EPG) team. The successful candidate will play a key part in coordinating workloads, managing resources, supervising training, and ensuring efficient handling of patent formalities. It’s a great opportunity for an experienced IP formalities professional to step into a leadership role within one of the sector’s most reputable firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the EPG team’s daily operations, ensuring smooth workload management and prioritisation.
- Act as a senior point of contact within the department, supervising, mentoring, and training team members.
- Lead documentation and process management, ensuring procedures are accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with clients, fee earners, and other departments to resolve queries and maintain excellent client service.
- Monitor and manage internal deadlines, team inboxes, and workflow reporting.
- Prepare, review, and submit documentation to patent offices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee European Patent Grant and Validation processes, including cost estimates, validations, translations, and authorisations.
- Manage relationships with external translation and validation providers.
- Provide management information and contribute to performance appraisals.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
