A leading European intellectual property team is seeking a newly qualified Solicitor to join its highly regarded London office. The team is recognised for its exceptional work across the life sciences, engineering and technology sectors, advising some of the world’s most innovative healthcare and scientific organisations. This is an outstanding opportunity for an NQ Solicitor to join a growing and dynamic team specialising in complex, high-value patent and SPC litigation. The team is heavily involved in multi-jurisdictional disputes and is at the forefront of Unified Patent Court (UPC) litigation, acting on a significant number of active cases including injunctions, infringement and revocation actions, and appeals. The role will provide exposure to cutting-edge work across life sciences, chemistry, engineering and technology, with some involvement in soft IP and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting on complex patent and SPC litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Supporting UPC litigation cases, including infringement, revocation and preliminary injunction proceedings
- Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, submissions and client advice
- Working closely with partners and senior lawyers on high-profile disputes
- Liaising with clients, experts and international counsel
- Contributing to case strategy and matter management in a fast-paced environment
- Newly qualified Solicitor (or due to qualify) with experience in intellectual property, ideally patent litigation
- Exposure to life sciences, chemistry, engineering or technology sectors
- Strong academic background, ideally including a STEM degree
- Demonstrable intellectual curiosity and interest in the intersection of science and law
- Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- European language skills beneficial but not essential
