A leading specialist family law practice with a strong presence across Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Senior Childcare Solicitor (10+ PQE) to join one of its offices in West Yorkshire. This is a senior-level opportunity for an ambitious solicitor looking to take on a key role within a highly respected public family law team renowned for its expertise in complex children matters, care proceedings, and legally aided work.
The firm has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality representation across all aspects of family law, with particular strengths in childcare, domestic abuse, and public law proceedings. Its lawyers are recognised for combining technical excellence with a compassionate, client-focused approach, supporting vulnerable families through highly sensitive and often challenging circumstances.
You will handle a varied and complex caseload of public children matters, including Care Proceedings, Child Arrangements disputes, non-accidental injury cases, and other Children Act matters. The role offers the opportunity to supervise and mentor junior lawyers, contribute to the continued growth of the department, and play an active role in maintaining the firm’s exceptional standards of client care.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Family or Childcare Solicitor with at least 10 years’ PQE and a strong background in public children work. Children Panel membership or Resolution/Family Panel accreditation would be highly advantageous, although experienced applicants working towards accreditation will also be considered. Strong advocacy skills, leadership capability, and experience handling legally aided matters are essential.
