IP Associate (Trade Marks)

A highly regarded law firm is seeking a talented Solicitor to join its growing Trade Marks team in London. The successful candidate will play a key role in the firm’s Trade Marks practice, handling a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. They will work closely with various teams and a diverse client base, managing trade mark portfolios and advising on strategic brand protection. The firm is looking for a commercially minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to delivering excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting trade mark searches, filings, and handling responses.
• Managing opposition proceedings and overseas filing programmes.
• Advising clients on trade mark protection strategies.
• Handling contentious matters, including litigation where required.
• Engaging in business development activities to support the firm’s growth.
• Collaborating with colleagues across different teams and client accounts.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years’ PQE with experience in non-contentious trade mark work
• Qualified to practice in the courts of England and Wales
• Exposure to opposition proceedings and overseas trade mark filings.
• Litigation experience is required
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team while managing individual responsibilities.
• A commercial mindset with a proactive and client-focused approach.
