I am keen to speak with Contentious Probate Solicitors (3+ yearsβ PQE) who are looking to progress their careers within a nationally recognised, specialist-only contentious probate practice.
This firm is entirely focused on contentious wills, trusts and estates. There is no general private client work, allowing lawyers to immerse themselves fully in their specialism and develop real depth of expertise in this complex and increasingly high-demand area.
The firm
This is a boutique, specialist law firm that has built a strong national reputation for its expertise in contentious probate and inheritance disputes. The team is made up exclusively of specialists and is well known for combining technical excellence with a compassionate, pragmatic and client-focused approach.
Just as importantly, the firm is widely regarded for its exceptionally flexible, family-friendly and understanding culture. The leadership team actively recognises that lawyers have lives outside of work and has built a working model around trust, autonomy and balance.
Flexible working is genuinely embedded in the culture, not treated as a perk. Lawyers are supported to work remotely or in a hybrid way, with flexibility around hours where needed, making this an excellent option for those balancing family commitments or seeking a more sustainable long-term career.
The role
The team is now looking to recruit an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its established and growing group of specialists.
Significant, hands-on experience in contentious probate is essential. This must be more than occasional exposure β the successful candidate will have spent at least three years fully immersed in contentious probate work and will be comfortable managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
You will work on a broad range of high-quality matters, including:
- Will and inheritance disputes
- Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act
- Trust and estate disputes
- Capacity and validity challenges
- Executor and trustee disputes
Why this opportunity stands out
- True work-life balance β the firm is genuinely flexible and accommodating, particularly for parents and those with caring responsibilities
- Remote and hybrid working supported as standard
- Specialist-only environment β focus entirely on contentious probate
- Clear and realistic progression routes, including a pathway to Partnership
- A supportive, collaborative team culture with no internal competition
- Strong, consistent flow of high-quality work
- A firm that values trust, wellbeing and long-term careers
Whether you are a mid-level solicitor looking to deepen your expertise or a more senior lawyer seeking flexibility without sacrificing quality of work or progression, this role can be shaped around your experience and career goals.
